Indiana Sprintweek Resumes at Lincoln Park Tonight
PUTNAMVILLE, Ind. (July 14, 2016) – After a rainy night in Terre Haute, USAC’s 29th Indiana Sprintweek swings back into action tonight at Putnamville’s Lincoln Park Speedway.
Current USAC Sprint Car points leader Brady Bacon reigns as the defending ISW winner at Lincoln Park Speedway after he held off Kevin Thomas, Jr., to take last year’s round of action.
Bacon finished third behind Robert Ballou and Chad Boespflug in the recent USAC event at Lincoln Park Speedway on July 1. Ballou topped the 2014 ISW round at Putnamville.
While Ballou and Bacon have enjoyed recent USAC success at Lincoln Park Speedway, the track has offered up a variety of winners in regular action this season with Thomas Meseraull topping a pair of MSCS events and Shane Cockrum scoring a pair of weekly victories.
Others capturing Putnamville wins this season include Kevin Thomas, Jr., Shane Cottle, Bryan Clauson, Brady Short, Jeff Bland and Tyler Thomas in what was just his second non-wing Sprint Car start.
Cockrum is the current track points leader ahead of Thomas, Jr., Bland, Nate McMillin and J.J. Hughes.
Additionally, with last night’s rainout, tonight will also mark Meseraull’s first night aboard the Landon Simon No. 24 mount with Jon Stanbrough taking over driving duties for the balance of the week in the Amati Racing No. 66.
