More Lead Changes in Open Wheel Power Rankings

The Wheatley Chronicles – Volume IV, No. 16

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (May 12, 2016) – Tight battles for the top spot in the Open Wheel Power Rankings are the norm with single digit leads in four of the six divisions.

The latest Open Wheel Power Rankings feature another pair of lead changes with Derek Hagar taking the top spot in Rod End Supply Winged 360 Power Rankings and Justin Melton moving to the top of the 305 Sprint Car Power Rankings presented by Dodge City Raceway Park.

Retaining leads are Shane Stewart in STIDA Winged 410s, Bryan Clauson in Infinity Shocks Non-Wing 410s, R.J. Johnson in Beaver Stripes Non-Wing 360s and Zach Daum in www.midgetmadness.com Midgets.

STIDA Winged 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings – Top 50 (Through May 8):

The battle for the top spot in the STIDA Winged 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings continues to be tight one with Shane Stewart clinging to a slim five-point advantage over fellow Oklahoma native Daryn Pittman.

With Stewart and Pittman out front, only 54 points separate the top five that also includes Greg Hodnett, Brad Sweet and Donny Schatz.

Danny Lasoski has climbed back into the top ten while Kerry Madsen jumped four positions to eleventh after sweeping Eldora’s World of Outlaws portion of the #LetRaceTwo event last weekend.

Infinity Shocks Non-Wing 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings – Top 25 (Through May 8):

While Bryan Clauson added another win with a USAC score at Eldora last Friday to extend his lead in Infinity Shocks Non-Wing 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings to 41 points, the battle for position behind him is an intense one.

Thomas Meseraull has jumped a handful of positions to second, just one point ahead of Brady Bacon as only eight points separate the handful of drivers from second to sixth that also includes Dave Darland, Kyle Cummins and Chase Stockon.

Top-ranked in 2015, Robert Ballou fell a handful of positions to eighth while Brady Short broke into the top ten at ninth along with Chad Boespflug, who is tenth after Saturday’s Eldora score.

Rod End Supply Winged 360 Sprint Car Power Rankings – Top 50 (Through May 8):

There is a new leader atop the Rod End Supply Winged 360 Sprint Car Power Rankings with Derek Hagar taking the number one ranking away from Seth Bergman, who topped the 2015 Power Rankings.

Adding his fourth win of the year, Hagar holds a slim five-point edge over Bergman with Aaron Reutzel in third and John Carney II in fourth as Brandon Hanks breaks into the top five after taking another win on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway.
