Make it a Double for Madsen at Ocala

Lonnie Wheatley, OCALA, Fla. (February 7, 2015) – Kerry Madsen eliminated the drama in Saturday night’s second round of All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car action at Bubba Raceway Park by mauling the field in wire-to-wire fashion for his second $5,000 triumph in as many nights.

After stealing the Friday opening night win on the last lap, the Australian racer dominated Saturday’s action throughout by leading all the way in the 30-lap feature event after kicking off the night with a quick time of 12.069 seconds in qualifying.

“We had a good run with a quick car, what more can you really ask for,” Madsen summed up after becoming the first repeat winner of 2015 in North American 410-ci Sprint Car action aboard the American Racing No. 29.

Starting from the front row outside, Madsen outgunned pole starter Dale Blaney at the outset and kept the reigning All Star champion at bay throughout.

Blaney moved in to challenge on several occasions through traffic but had nothing for the Madman, settling for second at the stripe. Steve Kinser started third and held the position throughout the race with Danny Holtgraver and Wayne Johnson rounding out the top five.

After Madsen set the night’s quick time, heat races were topped by Johnson, Holtgraver and Kinser before Blaney won the Dash.
