Power Rankings Shuffled Up after Memorial Day Weekend

The Wheatley Chronicles – Volume III, No. 49

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (May 28, 2015) – A big slate of Memorial Day Weekend racing action resulted in plenty of movement in the latest round of the Open Wheel Power Rankings.

Even with all the changes, only one lead change occurred this week with R.J. Johnson parlaying a USAC Southwest score at Canyon Speedway Park into the lead in Beaver Stripes Non-Wing 360 Power Rankings with other leaders including Donny Schatz in STIDA Winged 410 Power Rankings, Robert Ballou in Infinity Shocks Non-Wing 410s, Justin Sanders in Rod End Supply Winged 360s, Darren Hagen in www.midgetmadness.com Midgets and Jordan Ryan in 305s presented by Dodge City Raceway Park.

STIDA Winged 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings – Top 50 (Through May 24):

Donny Schatz added his 11th win of the year by holding off David Gravel at Charlotte last Friday to maintain the top spot in STIDA Winged 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings.

While Schatz remains out front, Greg Hodnett picked off his seventh win of the year Sunday night at Selinsgrove to jump past Paul McMahan for second and is just 77 points out of the lead. Also in the top ten, Brad Sweet moved past Joey Saldana for sixth while Dale Blaney slipped by Brian Montieth for ninth.

Cap Henry, Cody Darrah and Alan Krimes each broke into the 25 top while James McFadden catapulted into the top 50 after his first three races of the year on American soil.
