Schatz & Bacon Move into Power Rankings Leads

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (July 8, 2016) – There are a pair of new leaders in the latest Open Wheel Power Rankings with Donny Schatz and Brady Bacon moving atop their respective point charts.

While Schatz has moved into the lead in STIDA Winged 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings and Bacon has taken over the top spot in Infinity Shocks Non-Wing 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings, other current leaders include Derek Hagar in Rod End Supply Winged 360 Power Rankings, R.J. Johnson in Beaver Stripes Non-Wing 360 Power Rankings and Tanner Thorson in www.midgetmadness.com Midget Power Rankings.

STIDA Winged 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings – Top 50 (Through July 4):

For the first time this year, Donny Schatz has moved atop the STIDA Winged 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings as he guns for the top overall season ranking for the fourth year in a row.

While Schatz is in the lead, it’s not by much as he is just two points ahead of previous leader Greg Hodnett, who is just two points off the lead pace. Both drivers have racked up 13 wins in the winged 410 ranks.

With Schatz and Hodnett setting the pace, Shane Stewart holds down the third spot ahead of Daryn Pittman while David Gravel has moved into the top five.

The balance of the current top ten includes Brad Sweet, Joey Saldana, Dale Blaney, Ohio Sprint Speedweek champion Chad Kemenah and Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek champion Danny Dietrich.

With Bryan Clauson busy in the winged 410 ranks over the past couple of weeks, Brady Bacon has taken full advantage by stringing together a series of strong finishes to move to the top of the Infinity Shocks Non-Wing 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings.

Rod End Supply Winged 360 Sprint Car Power Rankings – Top 50 (Through July 7):

Derek Hagar added his ninth 360 triumph of the season this past weekend to retain the top spot in the Rod End Supply Winged 360 Sprint Car Power Rankings.

While Hagar’s lead is at 56 points, the man on the move is Sam Hafertepe, Jr. Son of Sam, Sr., has been on a tear, winning the ASCS Speedweek title, the Dirt Cup and the Fred Brownfield Classic to jump from sixth to second in the latest rankings.

With Hagar and Hafertepe, Jr., leading the way, Seth Bergman has slipped one position to third with Johnny Herrera and Aaron Reutzel rounding out the current top five.
