Schatz Leads the Way Again in 2018 STIDA Winged 410 Power Rankings!

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (December 28, 2018) – For the sixth time in as many years, Donny Schatz has emerged atop the STIDA Winged 410 Sprint Car Power Rankings.

Schatz racked up 24 North American wins in 2018, including 22 in World of Outlaws competition, to take the top position ahead of Knoxville Nationals champion Brad Sweet and David Gravel as this year’s top three mirrored the top three from 2017.

This time, Schatz took the top spot by 206 points over Sweet. It was the closest the second-ranked driver has been to Schatz since Daryn Pittman earned runner-up honors in 2013.

Sweet picked up another ten wins in addition to his Knoxville triumph to nail down the runner-up spot while Gravel picked off a handful of wins to secure third for the second year in a row.

Tim Shaffer put together a strong campaign to rank fourth while Pittman rounded out the top five to finish among the top five for the fifth time in the last six years.

Danny Dietrich led the way for the Pennsylvania Posse in sixth while All Star champ Aaron Reutzel made the most of his first full season of 410-ci competition by ranking seventh. Ranked fourth prior to his fatal accident, Greg Hodnett was eighth in the final 2018 tally with Shane Stewart and Carson Macedo completing the top ten.

Schatz and Pittman are the only two drivers to rank among the top ten over each of the past six years while Reutzel and Macedo both cracked the top ten for the first time.
