Schatz to the Top of STIDA Winged 410 Power Rankings

The Wheatley Chronicles – Volume III, No. 29

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (April 14, 2015) – Be afraid. Be very afraid, as the warning signs are there.

Donny Schatz topped two of three World of Outlaws events over the past week, running his season total to five wins already and shooting from fourth into the lead in STIDA Winged 410 Power Rankings.

The six-time and reigning WoO champ is already on a pace well ahead of last year when he only had two wins through April 12 and didn’t notch his fifth WoO win of the year until May 31. He went on to pick up 26 North American wins in 2014.

With a Placerville win on Wednesday and Calistoga score on Sunday, Schatz moved past Joey Saldana, Kerry Madsen and previous leader Paul McMahan to stake an early claim on the number one position as nine of the top ten positions changed this week. Only tenth-ranked David Gravel retained the same position as last week.

Jason Sides made a big move from 18th to 11th with a pair of podium finishes at Calistoga while Lucas Wolfe made a jump from 40th to 22nd with runner-up finishes at Williams Grove and Port Royal. Craig Dollansky broke back into the top 25 as well after a third-place WoO showing at Calistoga on Sunday.

The past week’s winners (car count in parentheses):

Wednesday – Donny Schatz (37 – WoO at Placerville)

Friday – Jerrod Hull (25 – MOWA at Jacksonville), Rodney Westhafer (20 – Williams Grove)

Saturday – Wayne Johnson (40 – NSL at W. Burlington), Brad Sweet (35 – WoO at Calistoga), Dale Blaney (35 – Atomic), Lance Dewease (30 – Lincoln), Parker Price-Miller (29 – Fremont), Greg Hodnett (25 – Port Royal), Tommy Worley, Jr. (23 – Farmington)
