Shane Golobic Captures the Trophy Cup!

TULARE, Cal. (October 22, 2016) – Wilie Croft may have taken the final checkered flag at the 23rd Annual Trophy Cup on Saturday night, but it was Fremont’s Shane Golobic emerging as the Trophy Cup champion at Thunderbowl Raceway.

While past event champ Willie Croft raced to victory lane from the front row outside in the 50-lap finale, Golobic rallied from 18th in the inverted feature field to finish fourth behind Croft, 10th-starter D.J. Netto and pole starter Henry Van Dam.

The charge through the field was enough for Golobic to take the title by just three points over Kyle Hirst, who fell just short with his run from 19th to sixth.
