Bellm Back to Creek County after Season-Opening Top Ten

Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (April 19, 2018) – Kyle Bellm and the Nixa, Missouri based No. 14k Sprint Car team fire back into action with Friday night’s ASCS Red River Region card atop the ¼-mile Creek County Speedway clay oval near Tulsa, OK.

It will mark the first action for the Greenworks Nursery/Landscapes Awarded team since opening the season with 81 Speedway’s Air Capital Shootout near Wichita, KS, on March 30-31 where he raced to a top-ten finish in the opening leg of the double.

In that 81 Speedway double that offered up a $13,000 winner’s share, Bellm battled through twin heats in the Friday night preliminary event to earn the 14th starting position aboard the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care entry.

From there, Bellm worked his way forward in the 25-lap feature event against a stout field to post a ninth-place finish.

“There were 60 of the best 360’s in the country there and we were going forward, so we feel good about that,” Bellm said.

After drawing a stacked heat in the Saturday finale, Bellm raced his way into the main event through “B” Main action and opted to take the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision Sprint Car pitside early on due to track conditions.

“The way the track was, there really wasn’t anything to gain by staying out,” Bellm said.

After last weekend’s racing plans were washed out, Bellm is ready to get back in action Friday night at Creek County Speedway. Bellm has posted a pair of runner-up finishes aboard the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions/Schaeffers Racing Oil entry atop the cozy confines of Creek County, including his most recent Sapulpa outing last July.

“Creek County has either been really good or really bad for us, there doesn’t seem to be an in between,” Bellm explains. “The last time there, we should have won. So hopefully we can gain that extra spot this weekend.”

Friday’s action at Creek County Speedway is set to go green at 8:00 p.m.

2018 Quick Stats: 2 races, 1 top-ten.
