Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (July 26, 2018) – Kyle Bellm will be in action aboard the family-owned No. 14k Sprint Car for another pair of events this weekend in Oklahoma and Missouri.
Bellm and the Greenworks Nursery/Landscapes Awarded Sprint Car will take to Creek County Speedway near Tulsa for ASCS Red River Region action on Friday night before returning to Eldon, Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway for another round of competition on Saturday night.
Bellm comes off a Saturday night at Lake Ozark Speedway that was cut short due to mechanical problems.
“We went from fifth to third in the heat and would have been in good position, but we broke a rocker arm,” the driver of the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care entry explained. “Luckily, the damage was minor so we’ll be set for this weekend.”
It made for the second consecutive Saturday night at Lake Ozark that was cut short after an extended run of finishes at or near the front.
“We started with some rough luck on the year and then had a really good streak of finishes,” Bellm says. “The last couple of races have gone the other way so we need to get back to the good finishes this weekend.”
Both tracks have been good for Bellm and the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision team in the past.
Bellm’s last three outings at Creek County Speedway have resulted in finishes of second, fourth and ninth while a pair of his nine top-five finishes this season have taken place at Lake Ozark Speedway. Bellm also captured four feature wins at Lake Ozark Speedway last season.
With a pair of wins to his credit already this season, Bellm and the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions/Schaeffers Racing Oil team look to add to that total with this weekend’s action.
