Dale Blaney's Twitter message Thursday was vague, but it signaled to Sprint Car fans that he was going to be around plenty in 2015.

"Adversity just got crushed," the message said. That might be a gross understatement, and it could be bad for the competition.

A week ago, Blaney discussed the possibility and uncertainty of his team folding or being sold. Car owner Tony Kennedy had some personal business to attend to and could no longer afford the rigors of owning a team.

No longer is Blaney in limbo. He put the finishing touches on a lucrative deal Friday morning [today] that not only keeps his racing season alive, it puts him in a good position to win races moving forward.

"The guy that is going to sponsor us contacted me last Saturday," Blaney said. "Nothing was actually finalized until a half our ago.

"We definitely knew this was going to happen as of Tuesday. I'm sure there are plenty of rumors out there, but we will release something in the next couple days. I will have a different car number, but everything will be the same."

Blaney didn't want to go on record with the new owner's name or sponsor. He hopes a press release announcing the team will be sent out in the next couple days.

It was rumored that multiple people would own Blaney's new team. The Ohio driver did indicate that there is one owner.

As for the deal itself, it's a good one for the 51-year-old Blaney. He will be able to compete for a sixth All Star Circuit of Champions title and will have noted mechanic George Fisher and the same equipment in place for another season.

"It's pretty big," Blaney said. "I really wasn't too concerned, because I knew I would find something.

"As for something of this magnitude, I didn't know I would find something this good in this short of time. George and I are probably in better shape than we have ever been."

Blaney is one of the most well-known Sprint Car drivers in the country. To date, he owns a series-high 115 victories and five championships with the All Stars.

But Blaney's success isn't limited to one series. He has registered nine World of Outlaws A-Main triumphs and victories in the prestigious Historical Big One (1998) and Kings Royal (2000) at Eldora Speedway.

Still, a deal of this degree seems like something that would happen in November or December. Not when the season is about to get into full swing.

"I didn't have many calls to run other cars," Blaney said. "I didn't figure I would, because everyone is set, right now.

"The guy that is coming to help us, I've never talked to him directly in my life. We've talked on Facebook, and he knows me, but that's it.

"I'm sure he has done his homework, and George and I are pretty reputable. But for him to do what he is going to do and for this to come together without me knowing the guy, it's pretty amazing to me."
