It’s Blackjack Time in Tucson!

Lonnie Wheatley, TUCSON, Ariz. (March 7, 2015) – After picking up his first career World of Outlaws feature win in last year’s season-ending weekend at Charlotte, Brian Brown wasted little time racking up win number two by wiring the field in Saturday night’s non-stop 30-lap Wildcat Shootout main event at USA Raceway.

Starting on the front row outside, Brown outgunned defending event winner Brad Sweet for the lead at the drop of the green and led throughout aboard the FVP No. 21 Maxim to post the $10,000 triumph and became the sixth different winner in as many series events in 2015.

“It took forever to win the first one, it’s awesome to get the second one this soon,” the Grain Valley, MO, racer said in victory lane.

The start proved critical on a surface that took rubber soon after the green flag flew. “I knew we needed to get in the lead and then I was just watching for the rubber.”

Brown held a substantial lead throughout with Shane Stewart slipping under Sweet for second in the closing laps, only to give up the spot and then recapture it with seven laps to go.

“I got by him (Sweet) and then nearly gave it away, it’s good to be on the podium though,” Stewart said after a runner-up finish in the Larson Marks No. 2

Sweet settled for third in the Razor-Back Tools No. 49, explaining that, “I didn’t get the start I needed, Brian had the top.  Then I didn’t think the rubber would come in that quick.”

Paul McMahan crossed the stripe fourth with Danny Lasoski rounding out the top five.
