Dude Takes Farmington to become First NSL Repeater
FARMINGTON, Mo. (May 28, 2015) – Danny Lasoski became the first repeat winner in five rounds of FVP National Sprint Tour action by winning Thursday night’s Inaugural Bull Ring Roundup at St. Francois County Raceway.
“The Dude” raced by Jerrod Hull two-thirds of the way into the 30-lapper en route to victory lane aboard Tod Quiring’s gomuddy.com No. 2 machine.
Earlier in the evening, Lasoski bested the 41-car field in qualifying by setting a new track record of 10.794 seconds, more than two-tenths better than second qualifier Brad Loyet.
Lasoski gridded the feature field fourth after the redraw with Loyet and four-time MOWA champ Jerrod Hull leading the field to the green flag. Loyet won the race through the opening pair of turns only to wheelie it down the backstretch, falling to fourth as Hull, Joe B. Miller and Lasoski dashed by.
With Hull weathering an early pair of cautions, he narrowly avoided a spinning Ryan Kempin on the tenth round to retain command.
“That knocked the Jacob’s ladder off and probably cost us, I can’t complain much though because I spun in the heat and collected him (Kempin),” Hull explained afterward.
In Hull’s early wake, Lasoski battled past Miller for second on the 13th lap and then swept by Hull on the high side in turns one and two with ten laps to go.
After a final caution with just eight laps to go when fifth-runner Mark Dobmeier spun getting into turn one and third-place Bryan Clauson checked into the work area with problems, Lasoski had the field covered over the final rounds.
Lasoski raced on to the stripe ahead of Hull, with Loyet settling for third. “Driver error on the opening lap cost us,” Loyet commented of the opening lap wheelies.
Tommy Worley was fourth with Ian Madsen rounding out the top five.
