Johnson & Pittman Injured in Placerville Crash

PLACERVILLE, Cal. (April 9, 2015) – Jason Johnson and Daryn Pittman were both transported to a local hospital following a crash 21 laps into Wednesday night’s World of Outlaws feature event at Placerville Speedway.

A rookie contender on the WoO trail after picking up his fifth ASCS National championship last year, Johnson was stabilized at the scene before being transported for further evaluation and observation where it was later determined that he suffered a compression fracture of two vertebrae. A timetable for his return has not yet been determined.

Pittman, the 2013 World of Outlaws series champion, suffered a broken collar bone in the incident and is flying back to Indianapolis where he is scheduled to meet with an orthopedic surgeon on Friday.
