Rico & Bud Take Trophy Cup Prelims
TULARE, Cal. (October 16, 2015) – A full day of wild Sprint Car action atop the Thunderbowl Raceway culminated with Rico Abreu and Bud Kaeding capturing Friday’s preliminary feature wins at the 22nd Annual Trophy Cup.
With Thursday’s preliminary card pushed back to Friday at noon after rain interrupted the proceedings following the first qualifying group, Rico Abreu raced from sixth to top opening feature ahead of Bud Kaeding, Tim Kaeding, Sean Becker and Jason Statler.
Bud Kaeding improved one position in the nightcap, taking command 11 laps into the 30 lapper when race leader Sheldon Haudenschild ran afoul of lapped traffic. Bud Kaeding went on to take the win ahead of Jason Meyers, Shane Golobic, Mitchell Faccinto and Kyle Hirst.
